Nick Reenan
Nick Reenan epitomizes the mantra that you get out of wrestling what you put into it. As a second year wrestler, now with Team Monday, he has won many tournaments and racked up an impressive 119-25 record.
In his first year wrestling he placed 4th at rookie state. Last year he won Outstanding Wrestler at the Greater Southwest Nationals, Southern Plains Regionals, Texas Open State Folkstyle Division 2, Freestyle USA Nationals and placed fourth in at Greco USA Nationals. His goals this year is to win Tulsa, All American in Greco and Freestyle at the bottom of the Novice bracket, and win Texas state bottom of Division 3. Not too bad for a 5th grader at McCullough!
Once Reenan learned that David Kjelgaard of Dallas Dynamite beat Cael Sanderson at Fargo while they were in high school, Kjelgaard became an instant hero.
Although he likes tournaments and live wrestling, Reenan also finds time for football and baseball. The family enjoys mountain climbing together; Reenan has conquered several 13,000+ mountains.
Advise for someone new to wrestling would be to work hard and not quit. Reenan finds academics important and budgets his free time. Using travel time in the car to catch up on reading and schoolwork helps him maintain an "A" average.
